Natalia Popova,
soprano

I was born and grew up on the Volga. I always knew that I would sing. I graduated from the Vocal College in my native city Volgograd and left for Moscow, where I entered the Academy of Theatre Arts. In 1991 I was awarded a prize at the Competition of Opera Vocalists in Belgium. In 1995 I received the Grand-Prix at the International Competition of Vocalists in France. In Moscow I sang Gilda in “Rigoletto” and Fraskita in “Carmen” with success. In 1996-1997 I performed in the Opera theatre in Brno, Slovakia, where I sang Norina in the opera “Don Pascuale”. At present I teach at the Vocal Faculty of the Choir Academy and have been lucky to collaborate with the outstanding Russian conductors Y Temirkanov and V Spivakov. I give many solo concerts.
